Biography

Blake Shelton is an American Country music singer and television personality. Shelton was born in Oklahoma and by the early age of 12, he learned how to play the guitar. 

By the age of 15, Shelton had written his first song and by 16, he received a Denbo Diamond Award in his home state. When he was just 17 years old, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his singing career.

After a few years in Nashville, He signed with Giant Records in 2001. He released several albums but his most recent one was released early 2013 “Based on a True Story” and his song “Mine Would Be You” was Shelton’s 10th consecutive number one single tying him with the record set by Brad Paisley several years before. 

He is married to country singer Miranda Lambert and also is the coach of NBC’s The Voice since it started in 2011.
