Biography

Charles “Charlie” Daniels is an American musician known for his contributions to country and southern rock music. He is a singer, guitarist, and fiddler who began writing and performing in the 1950s.

After moving to Nashville in 1967, he began making a name for himself as a songwriter, session musician, and producer. He co-wrote Elvis Presley’s “It Hurts Me”.

In 1970, Charlie recorded his self-titled solo album and two years later the Charlie Daniels Band was formed. With over fifty years in the music business, Daniels continues to perform and lends his time and talent to numerous other charitable organizations and is even featured in the GEICO insurance commercial playing a fiddle.
