Darius Rucker is an American singer that first gained fame by being the lead singer in the rock band Hootie & the Blowfish. The band has released five albums and Ruckus co-wrote the majority of the band’s songs. The band members met in college and began performing in the local college bar scene.
They charted six top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2008, Rucker signed to Capital Records in Nashville as a country artist. Rucker has released three country albums and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on October 16, 2012.
