The Wolfe Brothers are Australia’s #1 country rock band. The group consists of two brothers, Nick Wolfe (lead vocals and guitar) and Tom Wolfe (bass guitar and vocals). The third member is their best friend Brodie Rainbird (guitar). They all grew up together, went to school together and lived on the same road in a rural area just outside of Hobart, Tasmania. The family farm, Wolfe Farm, is renowned for producing the finest berries in Tasmania and has been in the family for over 110 years. All three band members still live on the farm in converted pickers sheds when they are not touring. They are the fourth generation to live on the farm and enjoy helping their parents work the property when they are at home.
The Wolfe Brothers captured the attention of their home country in 2012 when they were voted into second place in the final of the prime time television show Australia’s Got Talent. Although the national spotlight shined brightly on the group after only a few weeks of live performances on the TV show, it cannot be said that the band is an overnight success.
The Wolfe Brothers have certainly earned their musical stripes over the years. During their high school years they all began playing music in different bands, covering songs recorded by their various musical heroes. After leaving school the three musicians got together to form The Wolfe Brothers, and for six years were weekend warriors playing covers in pubs and clubs across Tasmania. Their on-stage energy and tight sound earned them a legion of fans across their home state - everyone loved to party at their local pub with The Wolfe Brothers whenever they were in town.
After their success on Australia’s Got Talent the band were signed for management and released their first album through ABC/Universal in Australia. They enlisted the talent of Nashville based producer Luke Wooten to mix the debut album for them. The tapes that the band sent to Luke to mix consisted of 13 songs all recorded in the boy’s bedrooms and living rooms. The ITS ON album spawned three Top 10 singles, including their first national chart #1 song and #1 video with the second single ‘The Girl, The Bottle, The Memory’. The album entered the ARIA Country charts at #2 and #18 on the all genre national ARIA chart.
